A few things you must keep in mind when enrolling in a fitness program

July 26, 2019/in Exercising, Fitness Programs

The mobile phones, televisions, and computer screens have literally taken over our world and this is the main reason behind the majority of people becoming inactive these days. Not many people focus on their health and this not only impacts our body adversely but also deteriorates our mental condition. The need of the hour is that we should keep aside one to two hours every day just for focusing on our health and fitness. There are various fitness programs in Long Beach that can help you to achieve your fitness goals. However, just enrolling in a fitness program is not going to help you in getting your dream body. You must be aware of a few important things before you start working on your body for that perfectly smooth start. Discussed below are such important things in detail.

  • Do not be mistaken that it is only the gym where you can take steps to improve your fitness. The idea behind enrolling in fitness programs is to get the much-needed assistance in achieving the fitness goals that you might have in your mind. However, you must remember that exercising in the gym is not enough in itself to make you fit. You need to take steps to make changes to your overall lifestyle to see good results. Make healthy living a part of your daily life and not just when you head to the gym.

  • Do not try to get overnight results and be patient. Overnight results are nothing but a big myth, as long as fitness programs are concerned. When you head to the gym every day, you will come across various muscular and big people around you, but you must not right away try your hands at something for which they have trained a good number of years. You will only end up with injuries if you try to lift heavyweights in the initial phase of your fitness program. You must start with basic training and gradually intensify it. One very important thing that you need to remember is to be patient.

  • Learn about your trainer. Before you join any of the fitness programs, it is important that you learn about the trainer and his qualifications. Ask as many questions as come to your mind before paying the fees and only when you are satisfied with the response should you process with the enrollment. A good trainer will assess you properly and then come up with an exercise regime for you.

  • Be focused and work hard to improve your health. You need to treat your gym membership as an investment and focus on improving your health from the first day itself. There will be distractions but you have to move beyond them and do it for yourself.

These are a few things you must bear in mind when enrolling in fitness programs. Find the right trainer who can assist you to achieve the best results.

Every Challenge is Doable if You Chop it Down to Size

July 11, 2019/in Blog, Developing a Disciplined Mind, Philosophy

It’s very easy to get so worried about the challenge facing you that you just freeze up and quit. It’s very easy to get discouraged. It’s very easy to feel that your problem is so big and so scary that there’s really no way you can get out from under it.

You might as well just give up. You might as well lose all hope. If any of these enter your frame of mind, you are simply just taking the path of least resistance. You’re looking at the situation from the perspective of somebody who wants to do the least work.

If you are serious about coming out on top and achieving unstoppable victory, every challenge does not have to be scary. Every challenge does not have to have the potential of crushing you and stealing your dreams.

Instead, if you have the right mindset, every challenge is actually going to be an opportunity. Think about it. If you are faced with a challenge that really pushes you back against the wall and incentivizes you to step up your problem-solving skills, what do you think will happen?

That’s right. Your natural imagination, resourcefulness, and creativity are triggered. You figure out a way. If you can’t get through the front door, you will try the roof. If the roof doesn’t work, you try the basement. If the basement is blocked off for whatever reason, you will try the side door. If that doesn’t work, then you will try the back door.

If today is not an option, then you will try tomorrow. If that is off limits, then you will try the next day. In other words, you challenge yourself to become a more competent person all around by tackling every challenge you come across.

One of the most powerful revelations you could ever realize is that every challenge is doable if you chop it down to size. Every challenge actually has many different moving parts. If you pick these apart and you attack one piece at a time in many different sequences, chances are you will achieve a breakthrough.

If anything, you become a different person as you go through this problem-solving process. This is what a lot of people miss out on. They’re always looking for the short cut or, worse yet, they’re waiting for somebody to pull them out of their situation because they have completely given up on coming up with a solution of their own.

You Get Less Competent the More You Run Away from Challenges

July 10, 2019/in Blog, Developing a Disciplined Mind, Philosophy

Believe it or not, personal competence is actually like a muscle. If you haven’t been to a gym before and you start lifting weights, what do you think will happen?

Well, it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out that in the morning, you’re not going to feel all that well. It seems like your muscles are aching all over the place. It’s like they’re screaming at you to stop working out.

You put a tremendous amount of pressure on muscles that are not used to that stress and pressure. What do you think will happen? That’s right, a lot of pain. The secret here is that you must work through the pain.

A lot of people are under the impression that if their body is telling them that it’s in pain that this is their signal to stop. This is the most common mistake rookies make. When you listen to your body, you’re basically listening to that part of yourself that is telling you to take it easy. You’re listening to that part of yourself that does not want to be stressed, confronted and challenged.

What do you think it will ask for? That’s right. It will ask for you to take it easy. It will ask you to do something else that is more pleasurable. It’s going to ask you to just lay off anything that may involve discomfort, inconvenience or sacrifice.

But it turns out that if you want to make the pain go away, you go to the gym and lift more weights. Sure, it feels like murder the next day, but if you keep going, the pain evaporates. It turns out that the pain is temporary. It’s the small price you pay to achieve higher levels of muscle discipline and strength.

The same applies to your competence. If you want to just focus on your current level of expertise and knowledge, you’re not going to improve. You’re not going to be curious about what else is out there. You’re not going to challenge what you think you know. You’re not going to break things apart and try to put them back together and figure out how to connect the dots and see the big patterns.

You’re not going to achieve any of that. Those are the things that will take your knowledge to the next level. Those are the things that will enable you to become a greater expert and authority in whatever field you’re in.

Unfortunately, a lot of people think that they can coast or take it easy based on their current level of expertise. They end up running away from challenges. They focus on the things they know. They focus on the “tried and proven.”

Unfortunately, the more they do this, the less competent they become because the value of their knowledge erodes over time. Also, if you don’t want to challenge yourself, chances are you’re not going to figure out better ways to articulate what you already know.

The Worst Kind of Pollutants Are The Ones You Can’t Detect Physically

July 9, 2019/in Blog, Detoxing Solutions, Nutritional Consultant

“To see is to believe.” How many times have you heard that saying? Unfortunately, a lot of people have made that statement their life’s mantra. In their minds, as long as they cannot empirically perceive something, then it doesn’t exist. Well, I don’t want to bring back nightmare memories of you back in high school or college philosophy class, but do you remember your professor asking this classic philosophy question?

If a tree falls in the woods and no one was around to hear it, did it really fall? This is one of the most basic philosophical questions because it goes straight to the heart of our conception of reality. The obvious answer, of course, is yes. If a tree fell in the woods, and we know what a tree is, and we know how falling works, and we know that falling often involves some sort of vibration in the air, and we know that vibration in the air can be perceived as sound, then the answer is a resounding yes.

In other words, reality operates according to certain rules that don’t change regardless of perception. I want you to wrap your mind around this truth, because when thinking about detox. Believe it or not, the worst kinds of pollutants in your life are not the ones you can detect physically.

They go beyond your drug test. They go beyond the alcohol level in your blood or breath. They go beyond your x-ray. They go beyond any kind of test that involves the human sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste. In other words, the worst kinds of pollution are mental, emotional, and spiritual.

Why are they necessarily worse? Well, what if I told you that regardless of what physical shape you’re in if your mind is in the right place, you will be able to do things that you previously felt you were incapable of doing. This happens all the time. People who have serious physical limitations are still able to do what they want to do because they have the right mindset.

That’s how powerful your spiritual self is. If you’re completely honest with yourself, it makes everything in your life possible. Your choice of clothing, your physical shape, your overall health, your lifestyle, all of those began as choices, and where do you think choices come from? They start out with an idea which is processed through your mindset.

This is stuff that you cannot see. But just because they remain locked within the deep confines of your consciousness doesn’t mean they have an effect. You find yourself going around in circles unable to do much about the patterns you constantly find yourself living out. Talk about feeling trapped. This is not the way to live. But, if you are stuck within this type of life pattern, you feel there’s not much you can do about anything in your life. It’s as if you are bound to repeat the same bad decisions over and over again.

What Is Holistic Detox And Why Is It Superior To All Kinds Of Detox Programs?

July 8, 2019/in Blog, Detoxing Solutions, Nutritional Consultant

Holistic detox works with the complete person. Please understand that you’re not just your skin, bones, muscle tissue, hair, digestive system, circulatory system, and reproductive system. You’re worth more than that. You’re also not just different parts, or anatomical items and tissue. You’re worth more than that.

The best way to explain this is to look at the brain. The brain, of course, is made up of billions, if not trillions of nerve cells. It is constantly bathing in very powerful neurotransmitter chemicals. It is one of the most complicated organic mechanisms in the universe. But nobody in their right mind would look at the brain and say that it is a mind.

When you look at a brain disconnected from the body, it is just a clump of tissue. It is a very powerful clump, capable of so much, but it’s still a clump. It has to be alive, it has to be fed experiences. It has to be conscious. It has to be self-aware. In other words, it has to be part of a system.

That’s how you define a mind. A mind involves memories, perception, mindsets, attitudes, perspectives. I bring up this example because a lot of people look at detoxification the same way. When they say that they want to detoxify their bodies, they’re looking at their bodies as if it’s hermetically sealed off, or surgically removed from the intangibles.

This is a serious mistake. It is no surprise that a lot of detox programs currently being promoted out there, flat out fail. They don’t even come close to delivering the benefits they’re supposed to bring to the table. How can they? They are positioned in such a way that they are supposed to deal only with your body, your blood chemistry, and other physical elements.

But the reality is that you are more than the sum of your parts; you are more than your body. You’re more than your ability to perceive. You are also your experiences, your memory, and your potential. You’re also your mindset. If you want a good example of this, look at a person’s life before and after they develop Alzheimer’s. It’s a completely different person.

It is very tragic when you see this person, complete, beautiful, deep, integrated, completely wiped of their personhood, and all you see really is somebody who is just there physically, and not much else.

Realize that you are doing the same. You might think that you are a fully functional human being who can make things happen and who is responsible and everything. This might seem to be the case but if you find yourself going around in circles or constantly making the same bad decisions, it might turn out that you’re not as free as you think. Unless and until you choose to wake up to the invisible toxins that are pushing you to run your life into the ground you won’t be able to achieve the kind of victories that would push you to the next level of self-awareness or full functionality. Learn to let go of unseen toxins.

Self-esteem without Competence is a Recipe for Failure

July 8, 2019/in Blog, Developing a Disciplined Mind, Philosophy

For the longest time, in the United States and elsewhere, educational policymakers bought into the idea of self-esteem. Please understand that self-esteem is a good thing. Nobody’s disputing that. However, according to this educational policy philosophy, for students to perform well in life, they need to have their self-esteem built up and encouraged early on.

Again, just like the observation that self-esteem is a good thing, this seems pretty good on the surface. What’s there to argue about. The problem is if you are going to be building your self-esteem based on affirmations and being made to feel good about who you are without any accomplishments or physical results produced by your efforts to back it up.

self-esteem | Wonderfully Fit PT

You are building your house on sand. This is precisely what happened with generations of youth fed on the steady diet of self-esteem stimulation. That’s really what it is. You just stimulated the formation of self-esteem not through actual achievements, accomplishments, sacrifice, hard work and other traditional indicators of success.

Instead, people got self-esteem by being respected for showing up. That’s it. That’s all you need to do. You just need to show up and you get a prize for participation. According to this school of thought, your feelings are paramount.

If only things worked that way. Sadly, a lot of people who base their self-esteem on the fact that they happened to show up know deep down inside that their confidence is hollow. They know that this is not the way real life works. They know that the world may have some rude surprises waiting for them. No wonder, many people with supreme self-esteem are very frustrated and confused.

As long as you’re feeling okay about yourself, then there’s really not much difference between what you think and what everybody else thinks. You are entitled to your estimation of yourself, the rightness of your action, so on and so forth.

What this created is self-esteem that produced very hollow self-confidence. People definitely can feel that they can do stuff, but they can only do it in theory. When they’re actually given challenges to produce and deliver results, most people, who focus primarily on self-esteem without the matching competence, fall apart like a house of cards.

Self-esteem without competence is a recipe for failure. If you’re having a tough time in any area of your life or you feel you’re frustrated or stuck in any area of your life, maybe it’s because of this. Sure, you feel good about yourself and it seems like you have a high estimate of your ability to get things done.

Unfortunately, unless and until that high estimation is based on actual experience and results, you’re just wasting your time. It’s probably going to be very hard for you to overcome challenges. It’s probably very tempting for you to just quit the moment you’re confronted with actual difficulty.

If you’re suffering from any of these, thankfully there is a fairly straightforward and simple solution. Click here for the solution.
